What is the Agile Mindset?

What is the Agile Mindset?

The agile mindset is not a prescription. It's a choice to create a culture that learns - for everyone.

Two decades ago, a group of software developers codified how their work could be both healthy and high quality. Educators have been learning from them for nearly a decade now, helping teachers and students envision collaborative learning in small cycles, supported by ongoing feedback, and free from carrot-and-stick control. The result is a practice, and mindset, open to exploration and more accepting of failure as a step forward.

While there are some tools of the trade, we find that the mindset is most important, because it is mindset that helps shift culture, and culture that is the ultimate driver of positive or negative learning environments. Based on a number of practices, where one can opt for a bit more of this over that, allows us to make space for trust, transparency, joy, and other agile values.
